This trailhead addition is part of the White River Greenway Trail extension through the City of Carmel. It includes not only a place to park but also a restroom building and an overlook for the trail users to enjoy the nature around the White River.
The overlook will utilize driven piles for the foundation system that extends up to support the horizontal structure. The horizontal structure comprises of a 1-way cast-in-place concrete slab spanning between steel beams. Weathering steel has been added at select locations to add architectural interest. The restroom building will be constructed of load-bearing CMU walls with a steel-framed roof system. JQOL served as the structural engineer of record for this project.
