Job Description
JQOL is seeking a dynamic experienced Surveying Manager to join our growing team. The Surveying Manager would perform general office surveying services as well as manage our growing survey team. Compile calculations, prepare and review surveys, prepare proposals, and grow the division within our dynamic company.
Responsibilities
- Establish department goals and support department to meet company objectives
- Assist with the preparation of topographic survey, boundary survey, and right-of-way engineering documents
- Review surveying documents prepared by staff including sign and stamp all surveys
- Process strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure on multiple project deadlines
- Complete field work if necessary to support crews in meeting deadlines, provide continuous training to staff with the use of surveying equipment and best practices, and adapt to the evolving technology.
- Provide as-built data in GIS format for company clients
Candidate Qualifications
- 5+ years of Land Surveyor experience
- Must have professional Land Surveyor registration in Indiana
- Experience with AutoCAD (or experience with MicroStation with willingness to transition to AutoCAD)
- Commitment to adapting to new technology
- Ability to train staff on use of equipment including GPS and total station
- Experience with preparing boundary surveys and in particular Right-of-Way plots
- Willingness to travel on occasion to remote offices
- Computer skills - Excel, Outlook and Word software.
